The PADI Drift Diver Specialty Course is designed for divers who want to safely enjoy one of the most exhilarating forms of scuba diving.

Drift diving allows you to relax and let the current do the work, carrying you effortlessly along reefs, walls and underwater landscapes while conserving energy and air. Some of the world's most famous dive sites, including destinations in Egypt, the Maldives, Indonesia and the Caribbean, are renowned for their spectacular drift dives.

During the course you'll learn how currents affect dive planning, navigation and underwater communication, while developing the skills needed to dive safely and confidently in moving water conditions.

Under the guidance of an experienced PADI Instructor, you'll gain practical experience in drift diving procedures, equipment selection and teamwork while completing a series of open water training dives.

During the course you'll learn:

Buddy team procedures during drift dives
Use of delayed surface marker buoys (DSMBs)

Prerequsites

To enrol on the PADI Drift Diver Specialty Course you must:

Be at least 12 years old
Hold a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another recognised training organisation)
Be medically fit to dive
